Datup's Demand Forecasting module: history and forecast with collaborative scenarios

~47% → ~57%

one-week retention after migrating to v2 (July cohorts vs. August–September)

What Datup is

Datup is a SaaS platform that helps procurement and supply teams plan demand, inventory, and distribution with AI, preventing stockouts and overstock. It's used by pharmaceutical, cosmetics, retail, restaurant, and distribution companies across Latin America and Spain.

My role

I led the redesign of the main web application, covering 5 interdependent modules: Demand Forecasting, Collaboration, Classification, Inventory, and Distribution.

  • Interviewed supply planners from 6 companies and ran user testing for each module, including 5-Second Tests to validate screen clarity before development.
  • Led and facilitated a Design Sprint with the product team.
  • Defined the information architecture and a shared pattern system across modules.
  • Built the component library and selected the typography.
  • Created functional prototypes with Claude Code.

Result

After the migration to v2, one-week retention among app users rose from ~47% (July cohorts) to ~57% (August and September). A client also said:

We really like it… we notice the change a lot, and we're very grateful that the information can now be seen in a single window when we review each item in detail. Seeing how demand has behaved over the last few weeks, everything very compact and well laid out, which is why we're very, very happy.
